Description Part-time Position 25 Hours Per Week Do you have at least one (1) year of experience supervising and organizing sports activities? We encourage you to apply to be a part-time Sports Coordinator with Chatham County Parks and Recreation. Examples of Duties Plan and organize activities for youth and adults at various recreation sites. Assist the assigned supervisor in managing the sports facilities and year-round sports program. Assign work schedules, process payroll information of employees, evaluate performance, and initiate budgets for the program. Attend games, keep score when necessary, compute scores, and determine seeding for playoffs. Schedule and post league games and practice sessions and revise playing rules and procedures as required. Open and close parks and recreation facilities, enforce park rules, and maintain statistics for attendance and participation. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, and At least one (1) year of experience in supervising and organizing recreation and athletic activities; or Any equivalent combination of training and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must have Sports, First Aid, and CPR certifications. During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team. In accordance with the Department of Transportation, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) holders and those employed in safety-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing. Candidates with direct and relevant experience may receive an offer of up to 10% above the minimum salary that is posted, reflecting their exceptional qualifications.
