Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Aide to join our team in providing engaging and supportive activities for residents in our long-term care and assisted living facilities. The Activity Aide will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by facilitating various recreational, social, and therapeutic activities. This position requires strong communication skills, a passion for caregiving, and the ability to manage schedules effectively. Duties Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Provide support during group activities, ensuring all participants feel included and engaged. Offer companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive environment. Document participation and feedback from residents to help improve future programming. Collaborate with nursing staff to address any specific needs related to memory care or aging issues. Maintain a safe and clean environment during activities, adhering to safety protocols. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members regarding activity schedules and resident preferences. Requirements Experience in caregiving or working with elderly populations is preferred. Knowledge of aging issues counseling and memory care practices is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with residents and staff. Previous experience in event planning or facilitating group activities is a plus. Familiarity with nursing home or long-term care environments is beneficial.
