Overview Join our vibrant team as a full time or part time Wellness/Activities Assistant, where your passion for enriching the lives of seniors will shine! In this dynamic role, you will create engaging programs and coordinate activities that promote health, happiness, and social connection among residents. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help foster a warm, inclusive community environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors while developing your skills in senior care and recreational therapy. Specifically looking for applicants have experience in one or multiple areas including dance, group fitness, silver sneakers/strength, cardio drumming male specific activities including construction, auto repair, etc ability and desire to work one on one with residents and their specific interests Duties Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities and resident events tailored to diverse interests and abilities Develop and implement engaging programs that promote cognitive stimulation, socialization, and physical activity Build strong rapport with residents through personalized interaction, fostering a sense of community and belonging Coordinate schedules for activities, ensuring smooth execution and participation from residents Collaborate with team members to assess resident needs and adapt programs accordingly Support memory care initiatives and assist with Alzheimer's and dementia-specific activities to enhance quality of life Requirements Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care settings is highly preferred Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, geriatrics, and memory support strategies Experience in event planning, program development, or recreational therapy is advantageous Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members Proficiency in Microsoft Office for scheduling, documentation, and resident record management Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating leadership qualities when needed Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in working with seniors and individuals with disabilities Familiarity with long-term care practices, home & community care services, or working with geriatric patients is beneficial Join us in creating joyful moments for our residents!
