This is a full-time university administrator role that plays a vital part in campus life, promoting health, wellness, and community through comprehensive recreational programming. As the Coordinator, you will help manage our
Student Fitness Center:
featuring free weights, cardio equipment, court spaces, an indoor track, a swimming pool, and field spaces, while leading a robust intramural sports schedule. If you are passionate about collegiate recreation, student leadership development, and active campus engagement, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities The Coordinator balances facility management with active student programming and staff development.
Your main duties will include:
Intramural Program Management:
Coordinate a large-scale, engaging intramural sports program consisting of 30+ events annually for students, faculty, and staff.
Student Staff Leadership:
Recruit, train, and supervise a large team of student employees, including sports officials, game supervisors, and facility lifeguards.
Facility Operations:
Support the daily operation and management of the Student Fitness Center in partnership with the Director.
Health & Fitness Programming:
Assist with general wellness programming, fitness challenges, and educational health initiatives for the campus community.
Collaborative Partnerships:
Partner with the Director to hire and supervise fitness center student staff, and collaborate closely with the campus Esports program on fitness-related initiatives and intramural coordination.
University Service:
Represent the department and serve on various university committees as needed.
Required Qualifications Education:
A Bachelor's Degree is required
Experience:
Professional experience in recreational sports management, preferably within a collegiate setting.
Leadership Skills:
Demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor, and supervise student staff in a fast-paced environment.
Availability:
