Job Description

The City of Lenexa's Parks and Recreation Department is currently looking for part-time, year-round Fitness Attendants who are positive, outgoing, and energetic team players to join our team at our Rec Center.
Schedule:
Afternoon, evening, and weekends shifts available. Position Summary Under the general guidance of the Recreation Supervisor - Fitness, this position is primarily responsible for supervision of the fitness floor in the Recreation Center. The Fitness Attendant will assist members with equipment use as well as lead new member equipment orientations. Position is responsible for keeping all fitness areas safe and clean and performing daily equipment inspections. Key Responsibilities Greets and welcomes patrons. Offers helpful and safe guidance to patrons regarding their exercise program and/or use of cardiovascular and weight training equipment. Leads equipment orientations. Inspects, maintains and cleans exercise equipment. Completes maintenance, incident and patron injury reports as they occur in fitness areas. Enforces fitness floor policies as well as general building policies. Required to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays. Additional Examples of Work Performed Assists with registration and scheduling of personal training sessions. Monitors facility schedule and directs patrons to the appropriate area for activities and/or class. Monitors part-time group fitness instructor schedules and communicates changes with Fitness Supervisor and patrons. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 16 years of age. Must have or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED Certification within 60 days of being hired. The starting rate of pay is $15.50 per hour. Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical and drug test. A background check is required if age 18 or older. To apply complete an online application.
