Job Description
The Public Schools of Brookline (PSB) serves over 7,500 students in Kindergarten to grade 12. We operate eight elementary (K-8) schools and one high school in the Town of Brookline. Principal (Lawrence School)
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Gr. 4-8 Building Sports Coordinator (BSC) will be responsible for overseeing the intramural and extramural programming. The BSC will work under the direction of the District's Intramural and Extramural Coordinators and school principals to ensure consistency with the programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Timely communication regarding registration for Extramural sports among school leaders and families. Develop "coach's responsibilities" folder for all coaches. Prepare and submit all attendance and timesheet information to payroll. Prepare concussion report form and warning signs for parents , rules, schedule, philosophy , and contact sheets for parents/guardians. Follow all safety protocols and stay current with certifications. Communicate practice schedules for all seasons and understand session limits and budget restrictions per sport. Must complete concussion training and maintain concussion training records for all coaches; must be completed prior to start of season. Responsible for tracking concussions to be reported at the end of the year. Work with Principals to ensure all applicants have completed the hiring process prior to the start of work. Track attendance of coaches and participants. Substitute for coaches as needed. Supply and collect equipment for all after school activities. Handout and collect uniforms. Collection must be done in a timely manner to ensure all items are returned. Hire & secure officials for Volleyball Games. Perform referee duties if unable to secure officials Submit officials' payment forms to Payroll. Cover crowd control at home games, and plan to help at tournament games (whether or not your team is involved). Post and circulate schedules to communicate sport information for students, parents, school personnel/administration. Report scores to the Extramual Sports Coordinator after each game.
