A Recreation or Activities Worker leads tours and vacation trips in outdoor or wilderness areas. Leads hiking, rafting, canoeing, climbing or diving activities for a group. Provides specialized knowledge about the history, terrain, ecology or wildlife for the tour. Manages transportation, equipment and provisions and assists with cooking.
Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:30PM . (Other hours and days may be necessary to meet the needs of the community.) New Horizons at Marlborough is seeking a creative, and organized Activity Coordinator to support the educational, recreational, social, and spiritual needs of our assisted living and independent residents. Essential Responsibilities Plan, schedule, and coordinate entertainment with outside performers, with continued focus on introducing new and engaging performers. Seek and book resident entertainers and encourage resident participation. Manage relationships and schedule Catholic, Jewish, and Protestant presiders over regular and special services. Develop, manage, and expand resident craft programs. Collaborate with residents to create and implement resident-led activities. Plan and coordinate holiday celebrations and special events in partnership with the Food Service Department. Complete and utilize event forms to coordinate activities among Food Service, Dining, Maintenance, and other departments. Schedule and coordinate quarterly resident meetings. Maintain accurate and timely activity calendars, event postings, and communications using Microsoft Office. Manage the community cable channel, campus bulletin boards, and social media communications. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of activity and event supplies. Work with the Business Office to verify and coordinate vendor billing. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience working with seniors is preferred. Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and event-planning skills. Ability to develop positive relationships with residents, vendors, entertainers, clergy, and staff. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access . Ability to manage multiple activities, schedules, and projects simultaneously. Creativity and enthusiasm for developing meaningful resident programs. Valid driver's license required.
