Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team in creating vibrant, engaging, and meaningful experiences for our residents. In this role, you will be instrumental in planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with memory care requirements. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a lively community environment that promotes socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on residents' lives while working in a supportive team setting. Responsibilities Carry-out diverse activity programs that cater to residents' physical, emotional, and social needs, including specialized programs for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease Coordinate resident events such as outings, celebrations, and themed activities to encourage participation and community engagement Collaborate with team members to ensure activities are inclusive, safe, and aligned with residents' care plans Manage scheduling of activities and maintain organized records of participation and feedback Communicate effectively with residents and staff to ensure personalized care and activity preferences are met Experience Prior experience in assisted living or long-term care environments is highly preferred Proven background in event planning, recreational therapy, or program development within senior or geriatric settings Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory support programs, and geriatrics is essential Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in home & community care settings is advantageous Strong communication skills coupled with the ability to build resident rapport are vital for success Demonstrated ability to lead team efforts in organizing resident-centered activities while managing multiple priorities effectively
