We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity/Recreation Assistant to join our team at Shrewsbury Rehabilitation and Nursing at Southgate. As a key member of our activities department, you will assist in planning, organizing, and directing quality activities for our patients, ensuring their recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs are met. Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality activity programs (includes entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and education) Chart patient progress and behavior in a descriptive and accurate manner Escort patients to and from activities Make regular in-room visits to patients uninterested or unable to participate in group activities Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients Assist in the evacuation of patients Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team Perform tasks that require sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently during working hours Read, write, speak, and understand the English languageRequirements:
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent Prior experience with geriatrics preferred Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action Ability to implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation Maintain professional working relationships with all employees, vendors, etc. Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance proceduresWhy Join Our Team:
