Job Description

We are hiring full-time Activities Assistants to join our creative and passionate recreation team at Webster Manor Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Webster! Weekly pay at $16 an hour ; 35 hours a week; Openings on 8a-4p. Our employees are the heart of our organization, and we take immense pride in their dedication. As an Activities Assistant, you assist in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the recreation department to ensure that an ongoing program of activities designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each resident is maintained.
Experience & Education:
Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent. We can train the right candidate!
Duties & Responsibilities:
Help coordinate and run events and activities programming. Build relationships with residents and learn about their interests to tailor programming to their desires. Organize group and individual programming. Generate ideas that will excite and encourage residents to participate in programming. Encourage residents to take part in activities that will stimulate his/her potential, physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire therapeutic team. Document and report any unusual or significant findings. Report all reportable events immediately.
Specific Requirements:
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must be at least 18 years old. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Must be knowledgeable in the Privacy Rule and ensure all staff comply with facility privacy practices policies and procedures. Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning. Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing policies and procedures. Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition. Must participate in continuing education and inservice training.
