Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team in providing enriching and engaging activities for our residents. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in our home. The Activity Assistant will work closely with our Activity Coordinator, residents, caregivers, and other staff to plan and implement activities that promote social interaction, physical well-being, and mental stimulation. Duties Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Communicate effectively with residents to understand their preferences and needs. Assist in scheduling activities while ensuring that all residents have the opportunity to participate. Provide care and support during activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment. Work collaboratively with other staff members to coordinate events and programs that promote resident engagement. Adapt activities for individuals with disabilities, ensuring inclusivity for all participants. Maintain records of participation and feedback to improve future programming. The Activity Assistant will report directly to the Activity Coordinator. Experience Previous experience in caregiving or senior care is preferred, particularly in a geriatric environments. Familiarity with aging issues and working with people with disabilities will be beneficial. Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
