Job Description

Job Summary:
The Recreational Director at Warriors Academy of Gymnastics will oversee the recreational gymnastics program, focusing on providing engaging, safe, and skill-building experiences for athletes of all ages and skill levels. This position includes managing recreational staff, designing class curriculums, coordinating schedules, and ensuring the overall quality of the program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for working with children and families in a recreational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, develop, and oversee recreational gymnastics programs, ensuring classes are fun, safe, and aligned with skill progression goals. Recruit, train, and supervise recreational coaching staff, providing mentorship and ensuring instructional quality. Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and curriculums that foster skill development, fitness, and confidence in participants. Coordinate class schedules and staffing, ensuring optimal use of facility space and resources. Monitor class enrollment and adjust schedules or staffing as needed to meet demand. Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on their child's progress and address any questions or concerns. Organize and oversee recreational events, such as showcases, birthday parties, camps, and open gym sessions. Oversee all-day camps and spring break camps, including lesson planning, scheduling, ordering supplies, and supervising staff. Collaborate with the management team to develop marketing strategies to promote the recreational program. Ensure all safety protocols and facility guidelines are followed during classes and events. Stay updated on current gymnastics techniques, trends, and best practices to continually improve the program. Must be able to coach and spot all recreational classes. Oversee all recreational coaches Assisting with reasonable tasks requested by a manager, owner, or coworker, provided you have the capacity to do so.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent organizational and planning skills to manage multiple programs and schedules. Strong communication skills for working with staff, parents, and gym management. Creative and adaptable, with the ability to design engaging and age-appropriate activities. Ability to handle administrative tasks, including scheduling and budgeting.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in management. Experience preferred in managing a team of coaches or staff in a recreational or sports environment. Leadership experience in a gymnastics or sports-related role is preferred. Gymnastics background preffered but not required. Certifications (must be obtained while working in this position): Recreational Coach membership
SafeSport Certification USAG Background Check CPR/First Aid Certification Positive Coaching Alliance Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and spot for extended periods Must be able to lift and move gymnastics equipment as needed (up to 50 lbs). Ability to spot athletes on all equipment safely during training. Full range of motion to assist athletes in performing physical skills. Occasional administrative work at a desk, including using a computer.
