Competitive salary Paid time off Silver Spring, MD 20904 Part time l 5 hours/day l 25 hours/week Monday-Friday | Day Shift | In Person $22/hour About the Role Aastha Adult Medical Day Care is seeking a reliable, compassionate Activities Coordinator (Adult Day Care) for planning and leading engaging cultural, recreational, and wellness activities for clients. Assist with translation, participant mobility, enrollments, transportation coordination, and maintaining a safe, inclusive environment. Organize special events, manage documentation, and communicate effectively with families, staff, and drivers. About Aastha Adult Medical Day Care Aastha Adult Medical Day Care is a non-residential, state-of-the-art facility dedicated to caring for elderly and disabled adults. We provide compassionate, family-centered care that promotes independence, meaningful engagement, friendships, and overall well-being. Our mission is to create a supportive environment where participants feel valued, active, and cared for. Key Responsibilities As an Activities Coordinator, you will: Lead the overall planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of engaging recreational, cultural, and wellness programs designed to enhance participant quality of life, social connection, and emotional well-being. Develop and conduct culturally meaningful programs, including traditional music, crafts, games, holiday celebrations, and recreational activities. Serve as the lead facilitator for group and individual activities, ensuring programs are interactive, inclusive, structured, and aligned with participants' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities. Take ownership of daily activity operations by directing schedules, assigning responsibilities, monitoring participation, and ensuring all programs run smoothly and effectively. Provide translation and communication support during activities, assessments, and participant interactions as needed. Create and lead culturally responsive programming, including traditional music, crafts, storytelling, holiday celebrations, educational workshops, and community engagement activities. Ensure a high standard of participant safety, dignity, inclusion, and respect during all activities and interactions. Maintain accurate records, activity documentation, participant progress notes, and program feedback. Communicate effectively with participants, families, staff, and transportation providers regarding participant needs, schedules, and preferences. Coordinate transportation logistics by managing communication between participants, families, and drivers to ensure timely and efficient pickup and drop-off services. Support enrollments, data entry, electronic filing, and compliance-related documentation. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to continuously improve program quality, participant satisfaction, and service delivery outcomes. Identify opportunities for program growth, innovation, and enhanced participant engagement while supporting organizational goals and missions. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED (required) Minimum 21 years of age Must be fluent in Spanish language Certificate in Life Enrichment program; or Minimum 3 years of experience in activity coordination and recreation programs and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with older adults, individuals with disabilities, or diverse cultural communities preferred Creative, patient, and compassionate approach to client care and engagement Ability to plan and lead group and individual activities, including arts, music, games, and wellness programs Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Flexibility to perform additional duties as assigned Benefits Paid Time Off & Holidays Competitive Salary Free Parking
