Center Activity Assistant Date Available:

Part-time, 25 hours per week
Salary:
$14.00-$16.50 per hour, commensurate with experience

Christina Moberly, 678 Front Ave NW Suite 205, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. Position Summary To help the Center Coordinator plan and implement center activities (individual and group) with emphasis on new and innovative programming. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Plan and implement individual and group activities that meet the functional needs and interests of participants to encourage socialization, provide entertainment, relaxation, and fulfillment, and improve daily living skills.
  • Assist in organizing, scheduling, preparing, promoting participation, and executing programs and activities.
  • Distribute bus tickets, reload tickets where needed and help with the newsletter.
  • Assist with special events and outings.
  • Report accidents or problems to the Center Coordinator.
  • Represent the Center in a professional, positive, and friendly manner always. Qualifications Education / Experience
  • High School diploma, GED or higher degree of education, and related work experience. Competencies
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience and understanding working with older adults including their value to the community.
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations, creatively solve problems, make decisions, and accept responsibility for the consequences. Special Licensing
  • ServSafe Food Handlers certification preferred. Expected Hours of Work
  • Standard office hours are M-F 8:00 am-4:30 pm. Physical Demands / Work Environment
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
