Jackson County Medical Care Facility is looking for a dependable, energetic, and caring Activities Assistant to help create meaningful experiences for our residents. For more than 185 years, JCMCF has served the Jackson County community. Today, we are a 194-bed, county-owned skilled nursing facility guided by a simple mission: You are why we're here. As an Activities Assistant, you'll play an important role in making JCMCF feel like home. You'll build relationships with residents, encourage participation, and help create activities, events, outings, and everyday moments that bring connection, purpose, and joy. What You'll Do You'll work with our Activities team to organize and facilitate engaging programs for our residents. Depending on the day, that might mean: Leading games, bingo, crafts, or painting Helping residents enjoy gardening and outdoor activities Assisting with concerts, celebrations, and special events Participating in fishing trips, picnics, and community outings Encouraging residents to participate and helping everyone feel welcome Preparing activity spaces and materials Working with fellow CarePartners to create positive experiences for our residents No two days are exactly the same, so we're looking for someone who can bring energy, creativity, organization, and initiative to the role. Who We're Looking For You may be a great fit if you are: An excellent communicator Dependable and self-motivated Positive and able to work well as part of a team Creative, energetic, and comfortable engaging with others Organized and willing to take initiative Comfortable using computers and learning new systems Able to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment Experience working in activities, recreation, volunteer coordination, senior living, long-term care, or with older adults is preferred. A CDL is preferred but not required. Schedule This is a full-time position supporting resident programming throughout the week. Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes: Two evenings per week One to two Saturdays per month One to two holidays per year Because resident activities happen beyond traditional business hours, these schedule requirements are an important part of the position.
