Activities Assistant

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring they receive the support and encouragement needed to participate in recreational therapy and social activities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through creative programming and personal interaction. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and implement recreational activities that cater to the interests and abilities of residents. Assist residents in participating in activities, ensuring their safety and comfort. Collaborate with other staff members to develop programs that address the needs of individuals with dementia, memory loss, or other aging issues. Provide one-on-one support to residents who may require additional assistance during activities. Document participation levels and feedback from residents to improve future programming. Foster a positive environment that encourages social interaction among residents. Participate in training sessions related to senior care, dementia care, and recreational therapy. Requirements Previous experience in Skilled nursing / Long-Term care settings is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with seniors and their families. A genuine interest in recreational therapy and enhancing the lives of older adults. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Flexibility to adapt activities based on resident needs and preferences.
