Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative and operational support to ensure the efficient day-to-day functioning of the ClearWater Arts Center and Studios & Ceramics Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Works collaboratively with the staff, Artists in Residence, art teachers, volunteers, & student interns, and community members to ensure all programs run smoothly and the goals of the organization are met. Assists with the monitoring of the operations of the ceramic facility which include the kiln room, main classroom studio, clay, and glazing mixing rooms. Assists citizens entering the facility or anyone needing assistance with the equipment. Ensures equipment is clean and safe for operation. Communicates all equipment issues ensuring the standard operation functions are followed with specialized equipment. Assists with cleanliness of the facility, programs and/or activities. Monitors participants, groups, and enforces rules & regulations. Assists with program development and implementation.

Performs other similar duties as required.
Job Specifications and Qualifications:
Knowledge:
Knowledge of ceramic equipment operations; Knowledge of ceramic programming; Philosophy and objectives of public recreation, personal health and hygiene; Applicable local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations; Prioritize work assignment; Customer service principles.
Licensing and Certifications:
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation [CPR]/Automated External Defibrillator [AED] (on the job training) Bloodborne pathogen (on the job training) Defensive Driving Course (on the job training) Valid North Carolina Driver's License.

Physical Requirements:
Positions in this class require: standing, fine dexterity, walking, lifting, carrying, sitting, reaching, handling, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, climbing, vision, foot controls, balancing, bending, crouching, hearing, twisting, talking.
Light Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, or negligible amounts constantly AND/OR walking or standing to a significant degree. Incumbents may be subjected to mechanical hazards, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire hazards, explosives, and communicable diseases.
