No Job Description ECU Department of Campus Recreation and Wellness is currently seeking several Fitness Attendants. Join our dynamic team at Campus Recreation and Wellness ( CRW) as a Fitness Attendant! CRW is dedicated to enhancing the recreation and wellness lifestyles of the ECU community through structured, self-directed, and educationally oriented programs. We aim to foster responsible citizenship, provide leadership experiences, and promote lifelong skills for physical, social, emotional, and mental well-being. Supporting the Division of Student Affairs' commitment to purposeful well-being. Responsibilities (include but not limited to): Provide a world-class member experience with exercise education, equipment orientations, answering member questions, and managing emergencies Maintain and clean fitness equipment according to standards and protocols Utilize necessary software applications for facility operations Apply risk management strategies to protect everyone and minimize liability Identify and report potential hazards to ensure a safe environment Enhance your skills through professional development and training Use effective communication techniques with members and guests Adapt to various personality styles and backgrounds when assisting members Incorporate feedback to improve professionalism and future experiences Apply exercise science knowledge to assist members during workouts Perform other duties as assigned GPA Requirement Minimum of 2.0 Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.) Excellent communication skills Knowledge of fitness equipment and safety standards Ability to work independently and as part of a team for a minimum of 6 hours per week Must be CPR/First Aid/AED certified or able to obtain certification within 60 days of hire Flexible work availability, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and ECU sanctioned breaks Demonstrated ability to manage and lift a minimum of 60 pounds.
