Join our Municipal Golf Course team as a Part time Recreation Specialist in the pro shop and help keep the daily operations running smoothly by supporting facility activities, assisting with recreation programs and special events, and providing great service to golfers and visitors. Make a positive impact while working in a welcoming, community-focused setting. Typical Tasks Assist with the pro shop duties at the Municipal golf course Work closely with the pro shop staff to ensure daily course play is organized Assist customers with golf equipment Process point-of
  • sale transactions to include the sales of green fees, carts, merchandise, and food/beverage sales Book tee times and start golfers according to those times Operate golf cart
Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:
Minimum six months of recreation and/or golf course experience resulting in a basic understanding of the game of golf and the course etiquette expected from golfers.
Other Requirements:
Valid Driver's License Ability to work in all weather CPR/First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Notes:
This is a part-time position scheduled to work no more than 19-hours per week. Selected candidate must be available to work weekends and most holidays. The selected candidate will be required to complete a post-offer driving history, criminal history, credit check, drug screen, P ersonal and Professional Reference Checks, and Fingerprint-based state and national criminal record check This position has been identified to interact with children and must comply with
NC G.S. 153A-94.2
(b) requires an applicant for employment that "works with children in any capacity, must require the applicant, if offered the position, to be subject to a criminal history record check conducted by the SBI." These checks must be conducted in accordance with

Applicant Status Updates :

  • The City offers two options for health coverage: a standard PPO plan and a High Deductible Health Plan with an associated Health Savings Account. Coverage becomes effective the first day of the month following hire for employees and their eligible dependents. Both you and the City contribute to the overall cost of coverage. Dental Insurance
  • Coverage becomes effective the first day of the month following hire. Employees, their spouse and dependent children are eligible for coverage. Life Insurance
  • The city pays to provide coverage valued at one times your annual salary.
Supplemental insurance is available for employees to purchase. Optional coverage for dependents is also available for purchase.
Retirement:
NC Local Government Retirement System
  • All benefits eligible employees make a mandatory 6% contribution every pay period. Deferred Compensation
  • The city contributes an amount equal to 4.5% of the annual salary to a 401(k) plan regardless of employee contribution. Employees may choose to contribute additional money to the 401(k) or 457 deferred compensation plans, without a match from the City, within the IRS guidelines.
