Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Activities Assistant to enrich the lives of residents in a senior living environment. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for engaging seniors through meaningful activities, with experience in event planning, recreational therapy, and resident engagement. As an Activities Assistant, you will coordinate and implement diverse programs designed to promote socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being, fostering a vibrant community atmosphere. Duties Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities and events tailored to residents' interests and abilities. Collaborate with team members to develop engaging programs that support cognitive health, physical activity, and emotional wellness. Assist residents with daily activities (Activities of Daily Living) and encourage participation in group events. Build strong rapport with residents to understand their preferences, needs, and individual care goals. Coordinate schedules for resident activities, ensuring timely execution and smooth operation of programs. Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to improve program offerings continuously. Support memory care initiatives by implementing specialized activities for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Requirements Proven experience working with seniors in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or geriatric care settings. Knowledge of event planning, recreational therapy, and program development specific to elder populations. Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and memory support strategies. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Ability to assist residents with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) and support aging issues counseling when needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation and scheduling purposes. Prior experience in long-term care or home & community care environments is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to build resident rapport while maintaining a compassionate approach toward individuals with disabilities or special needs. $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
