In this role you will oversee: Fitness Operations Oversee daily operation of all strength and cardiovascular fitness areas. Supervise student staff. Ensure safe, clean, and welcoming fitness environments. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures. Coordinate risk management practices and facility inspections. Assist with the coordination of equipment maintenance, inventory management, and recommendations for equipment replacement planning. Personal Training Program Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Personal Trainers. Develop and grow the Personal Training program. Monitor program quality, participation, and customer satisfaction. Coordinate client onboarding and trainer assignments. Develop new services and programming. Student Staff Leadership Supervise a large student employee team. Develop student leaders. Provide ongoing training and mentorship. Conduct evaluations. Create a positive team culture. Instruction & Education Teach or assist in the administration of academic credit courses each semester as assigned, such as
FITN 222
Intro to Personal Training. Assist with educational workshops. Administration Assist with budgeting. Supervise the Fitness Graduate Assistant. Collect assessment data. Collaborate with other Campus Recreation staff and campus partners. Support departmental initiatives.

EEO Statement Minimum Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree Experience with personal training administration and operation of a fitness facility with a robust offering of strength and cardio equipment. Graduate assistant experience would meet the 1 year experience requirement. CPR/First Aid (or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire), including acquiring instructor certification Supervisory skills Appropriate technology skills. Knowledge of exercise science principles. Must have a minimum of one nationally accredited personal training or strength and conditioning certification (i.e.
NSCA-CSCS, NSCA-CPT, ACE, ACSM, NASM
). Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Education Administration, Sport Management, Nutrition, Health Promotion, Recreation Administration or related field. Two or more years teaching strength training courses and managing a strength training/fitness facility. Budget development and administration experience. Teaching experience. Personal training certification. Equipment purchasing experience. Preferred to have two nationally accredited fitness certifications including Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (i.e.
NSCA, ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NASM, USAW
