Police Activities League (PAL) - Crossplex About PAL & the Crossplex The Police Activities League (PAL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for local youth and their families. Through sports, events, and programs, we bring children and police officers together to promote learning, leadership, teamwork, and positive experiences. The Crossplex is PAL's indoor sports and events facility, hosting leagues, clinics, birthday parties, and community programs year-round. Position Summary PAL's Crossplex is seeking dependable, energetic, and kid-friendly Crossplex Associates to support our sports programs and events. This is a hands-on role that includes assisting with youth sports, supervising participants, supporting birthday parties, and helping with daily facility operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with kids, staying active, and being part of a mission-driven organization. Schedule & Availability Weeknight and weekend availability is required Weekdays typically run from 4:30 PM - 9:30 PM Weekend shifts may be scheduled anytime between 7:30 AM - 8:30 PM Shifts are generally 3-6 hours , but may vary depending on programming Key Responsibilities Assist with coaching and running youth sports programs including soccer, flag football, soccer, volleyball, field hockey, tee ball, and other activities Help run drills, organize players into teams, and assist coaches on the field Supervise participants to ensure safety, sportsmanship, and fun Mentor and positively engage with children of various ages Support birthday parties and special events, including organizing activities and monitoring play Check in participants and manage attendance Operate the concession stand and scoreboard as needed Assist with basic facility upkeep, including light cleaning of the lobby and common areas Open and close the building when assigned Follow directions and complete assigned tasks related to daily operations Potentially assist with simple social media content or event support, depending on experience Qualifications Enjoys working with children and teens Comfortable being active and outdoors or indoors for extended periods Able to provide clear instruction and positive guidance to youth Responsible, punctual, and reliable Able to work independently and as part of a team Prior experience coaching, refereeing, working camps, or youth programs is a plus, but not required Pay Rate Hourly rate ranges from $16.50 - $19.00 , based on experience and responsibilities Why Work With PAL?
