Days/Hours:
Tuesdays from 4pm to 9:15pm AND Fridays from 4pm to 8:15 pm
POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the direction of the Associate Director of Health & Wellness - Fitness, the Evening/Weekend Supervisor is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for all members and guests regardless of background or abilities; and working with the Facilities team to ensure the cleanliness, safety, appearance and proper function of YMCA property and systems. The Evening/Weekend Supervisor serves as a vital connection between evening/weekend building operations and the Full-Time Staff and Leadership.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to comprehend product labels and instructions to ensure safe product handling.
  • Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, their safety, and efficient use.
  • Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of YMCA equipment, and major facility systems
  • Maintains reports and records of maintenance requests.
  • Ability to analyze and respond to safety and emergency situations.
  • Interacts in a positive manner with members, guests, and team.
  • Possess and maintain certifications in CPR/AED and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer.
  • Completes required Praesidium training within 30 days of hire.
  • Completes additional training, as assigned.
  • Knowledge and use of hand tools, required.
  • Background in facility management, strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of large mechanical systems, or history of trade work, preferred.
  • Experience with power tools, preferred.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to: climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand for an extended period of time, climb ladders, walk, shovel snow, plow snow, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual perception.
  • YMCA building equipment and systems can be heavy. Ability to lift 50lbs is required.
  • The work is performed both indoors and out.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
