Job Description
Description Plan, organize and coordinate a summer playground program for children, including physical activities, arts and crafts, and special events. Actively interact and participate in the planned activities. Provide leadership and direction to participants and staff. Essential Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Regular attendance is required to perform the duties of this position. Maintain harmony and resolve grievances among workers and participants. Perform or assist subordinates in performing duties. Adjust errors and complaints. Plan, organize and coordinate the development and implementation of a summer playground program for children. Coordinate, schedule and maintain related records and statistics for programs and personnel. Provide leadership and direction to summer playground staff in the development and implementation of activities and special events. Communicate official plans, policies and procedures to staff and the general public. Motivate assigned staff. Review progress and directs changes as needed. Oversee the enforcement of the City personnel manual and related policies and procedures by recreation staff and participants. Promote interest and provide information regarding the summer recreation program to other recreation officials and the general public. Available to work the City July 4th celebration. Perform, as needed, custodial work, including sweeping, mopping and cleaning of facility restrooms and work areas. Demonstrate self-initiative in performing routine tasks as in accordance with standard operating procedures and standard operating guidelines.Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED, plus four (4) months experience working with youth.Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Working knowledge in planning and administration. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, participants and the general public. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Ability to plan and supervise the work and participation of paid staff and patrons; Ability to develop, coordinate and direct various activities involved in a summer playground program.TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud. The City of Hobbs will provide 80% to 90% Heath Insurance Coverage from Single to Family coverage. Employees are eligible for 100% short-term disability coverage provided by the City of Hobbs. Employer PERA contributions 14.8% for general, 28.775% forHPD, 30.9
% forHFD. CDL
pay- $6,000 per year (if applicable). PTO accruals start at 12 hours per month (144 hours per year) and progressively increase based on years of service to 20 hours per month (240 hours per year) at year 21. Bilingual Pay
- $1,500 dollar incentive per year upon completion of yearly proficiency test. Education Incentive
