POSITION SUMMARY

The YMCA of Southern Nevada is looking for a kids gym attendant. You will play a key role in creating a welcoming and engaging environment for our members. Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, you will supervise groups of children and implement YMCA activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads and participates in group activities and performs related skills with children ages 3 months to 7 years old. (i.e., painting, coloring, reading, and motor skills activities). Follows specific YMCA Camp Standard Operating Procedures. (i.e., check-in/out of participants, parent greeting, cleaning and straightening of supplies). Implements program activities and special events. Promotes and embraces Character Development in curriculum. Serves as a positive role model for program participants. Builds and maintains a high standard of member service for all program participants.

ABUSE RISK MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS

Adhere to policies related to boundaries with children. Attend required abuse risk management training. Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations. Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements. Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This job requires the following physical demands. Reasonable accommodation may be made. You will need the ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations, and apply appropriate management techniques. You will need sufficient strength, agility and mobility to supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations. You will need to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. You will need to reach with hands or arms. You will also need to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. You will occasionally need lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level is usually moderate.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or general education (GED); or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong skills in:

communication, leadership, judgment, and creativity. Within 30 days of hire current CPR, AED, First Aid Certifications (required)v Minimum age of 16
