North East Westchester Special Recreation is a nonprofit organization that provides therapeutic recreation programs for children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We are seeking reliable, compassionate, and enthusiastic Recreation Counselors to join our team for our Saturday Clubhouse program. October 10 About the Role Saturday Clubhouse serves children ages 4-16 who are grouped by age. As a Recreation Counselor, you will be assigned to a group of participants and provide support throughout the day during recreational activities, transitions, and lunch. You'll work alongside a team to create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where every participant can succeed. Responsibilities Provide individualized support to assigned participants. Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants. Encourage participation in recreational activities and social interactions. Assist with transitions between activities and daily routines. Work collaboratively with the Lead Counselor and fellow staff members. Help create a positive, welcoming, and inclusive program environment. Qualifications Reliable, patient, and enthusiastic. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required. Ability to adapt to participants' individual needs and support a variety of activities.
