2 days/week, 12:30-8:30pm, rotating weekends Employees are an important part of life at Schofield Care! Position Summary:
The Activities Aide is responsible for specific duties delegated by the Director of Activities. This individual will conduct programs beneficial to the needs and wants of the residents. Must have the ability to work effectively with the elderly. Accept and perform daily assignments as given. Prepare activities tools and materials. Prepare the place where the activity is to be held. Assist residents who need assistance. Clean up all tools and materials after each program. Able to have an exchange of ideas in social outlet. Assist volunteers in their activities with residents. Conduct a program independently. Transport residents as necessary. Assist in residents' feeling of self-worth and pride in accomplishments. Assist residents in need during activity programs. Perform other related duties as required by their manager.
Qualifications:
Education and Training - A high school graduate with knowledge and instructional ability in crafts, games and activities will be considered. Some understanding of the physio-social limitations of the elderly is required. Experience - One year experience in working directly with the elderly is preferred. Character - The individual must possess good moral character, patience and compassion for the elderly.
