$17.00per hour. The Rescue Mission is seeking an Activities Coordinator/Client Care Specialist to join our team in Crossroads. Crossroads is a Residential Adult Care Facility that provides a safe and supportive environment for men with mental, physical, and developmental disabilities. In this role, the Activities Coordinator/Client Care Specialist will develop and coordinate activities that encourage resident engagement, independence, social interaction, and overall well-being. This position also supports residents with daily needs while helping maintain a clean, safe, and positive environment.
Additional Duties:
This position creates and implements monthly activity calendars that include physical, intellectual, social, recreational, individual, small group, large group, campus-based, and community-based activities. The Activities Coordinator/Client Care Specialist develops rapport with residents, provides support and encouragement, assists with personal care needs as appropriate, shares necessary client information through documentation and communication, and helps coordinate Department of Health compliance tracking and paperwork. This position also participates as part of the team by completing room checks, monitoring the facility, assisting with meals, supporting resident hygiene and safety, and treating all residents with respect and dignity.
Requirements & Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with homeless, addicted, and/or mentally ill populations preferred. Prior experience coordinating recreational activities preferred. Associate Degree in Recreation preferred. Valid NYS Driver License in compliance with company driving criteria preferred. Must meet Department of Health background criteria, including fingerprints. Flexibility, strong interpersonal skills, time management, and crisis management skills. Ability to maintain a calm, professional presence in times of crisis.
