$22.00/hour About Us LAUNCH has been proudly serving the greater Onondaga County area for over 40 years. Offering individualized services that foster learning, independence, and growth - guided by the principle that learning is unique for each individual and occurs in all spheres of life. We serve and support anyone who seeks guidance in learning. This can include children, adults, families, parents, and caregivers from all backgrounds as well as learning styles. About the Role LAUNCH Connect and Thrive (Children's Recreation) program is based on social emotional and experiential learning. Assistants will be responsible for facilitating preplanned activities for children ages 11-18 who are OPWDD eligible. Assistants will facilitate positive interactions between students in a variety of community settings. Maintaining a safe, positive and organized environment. Our philosophy is to show children that learning can be a positive experience and we expect our teachers to exemplify that philosophy in the classroom and community. Education & Experience High school diploma Experience working with children Knowledge of disabilities preferred Physical ability to supervise and participate in all activities Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required skills include: Ability to integrate multi-age instructional strategies, critical thinking, basic technology/e-mail, reading comprehension, effective written and verbal expression. Conditions of Employment Must possess a valid driver's license and transportation necessary to meet program needs.
