Recreation Assistant:
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Recreation Assistant to support the Director of Activities in designing, coordinating, and implementing a variety of recreational and educational programs for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors through engaging activities and a strong commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Implementation:
Assist in the planning and execution of individual and group activities based on residents' interests and needs.
Resident Assessment:
Complete the activity component of the resident assessment within 14 days of admission and update the program quarterly.
Data Gathering:
Document required assessments and resident interactions, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Interdisciplinary Team Participation:
Actively participate in resident care conferences and collaborate with other team members to address residents' activity-related concerns.
Activity Coordination:
Organize and conduct a range of indoor and outdoor activities, including evening and weekend events, to promote resident engagement.
Volunteer Supervision:
Schedule and supervise volunteers to assist with activity programs.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and manage supplies for program implementation.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of building rapport with residents and their families.

Ability to manage documentation and follow through on resident care plans.

Passion for creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all residents.
Experience and Education Requirements:
An Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in a senior living or healthcare setting is a plus. How to
