Job Description

Job Overview This is an as-needed position with potential for part-time employment. The Activities Assistant plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in a skilled nursing and memory care facility. This position is responsible for implementing and monitoring/evaluating engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical well-being among residents. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for creating enriching experiences tailored to the needs of individuals with varying levels of cognitive function. Duties Performs activities and programming as delineated by the Activities Director Works to assist in the planning of community/resident events Assists with community outings to special events, lectures, for an active resident lifestyle One-to-one activities utilizing interpersonal needs to meet resident/client needs Projects a positive image of the organization in dealing with residents/clients, co-workers, and the public Qualifications Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, food etc., and maintain the appearance of facility activity location(s) Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the development and implementation of activities Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's requests and condition Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace This position is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors through meaningful activities.
