Job Description

General Description of Duties Under direct supervision, the purpose of this position is to provide activities, crafts, outings, and memory enhancement programs for the residents of Dayspring. For a full job description, please contact Dayspring Assisted Living Summary As an Activities Coordinator, you will plan, coordinate, and oversee wellness and recreational programs for residents, supporting a vibrant, patient-centered environment. You will collaborate with care teams and report to the Activities/Wellness Manager to ensure engaging, safe, and meaningful activities that align with each resident's interests and care plans. Your experience in long-term and senior care, strong communication, and event-planning skills will drive resident participation, enhance quality of life, and foster a supportive community for individuals with memory or dementia care needs. Responsibilities Plan and lead wellness activities and recreational programming for residents, including memory care and dementia-focused activities. Coordinate resident events, outings, and hobby sessions; tailor activities to individual interests and abilities. Provide companionship, assist with social engagement, and support aging-related counseling as needed. Collaborate with care staff to integrate activities with ADLs and daily routines; monitor resident participation and well-being. Maintain accurate schedules, document activity outcomes, and adjust programs to meet safety and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Long-term care and senior care experience, including working with geriatric and memory-impaired individuals Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage residents in wellness activities Experience in events planning, recreation therapy, and coordinating resident events Familiarity with ADLs assistance, schedule management, and aging-related counseling Background in nursing home or assisted living settings; dementia and Alzheimer's/dementia care experience Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support social work goals for residents
