Our mission is to help students become physically, mentally, and socially well-rounded through fun, structured afterschool experiences. We are currently hiring 3-5 energetic, team-oriented leaders to join our 2026-2027 & Beyond. Position Overview As an Afterschool Activity Leader (Sports) , you'll work directly with students in grades K-5 and grades 6 & up , supporting engaging programs that promote confidence, creativity, and leadership. You'll help teach, lead and assist in areas such as: Homework support & academic enrichment Lead and/or Assisting Student activities Sports and fitness activities, including Taekwondo Team-building games and leadership workshops Fun & Creative learning
Schedule & Hours Program Dates:

Work Hours:
Monday-Friday, typically between 2:30 PM
- 6:00 PM (Additional hours available for school closure days, specialty classes, or extended care shifts) Event or Special Hours
- Possible Weekend Compensation Paid Training Period (2-4 weeks): $ Minimum wage / hr
Post-Training Pay:
$17
- 35/hour (DOE
- depending on experience, performance, and role responsibilities) Key Responsibilities
- Entry-Level / No Experience Required (Paid Training Provided) Lead and assist with daily afterschool activities for K-5 and 6 & up groups Actively engage with students during operation hours, learning activities, and outdoor activities Foster a fun, respectful, and safe environment for all participants Work collaboratively with fellow instructors, coaches, and program staff Support transitions, snack time, sign-in/out procedures, and homework time Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and special events as needed Key Responsibilities•Experienced Candidates (After Training Period) Lead or Assisting Afterschool activities.
Supporting instruction of fundamental skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship Helping manage group sizes of 10-20 students with positive energy and structure Encouraging student confidence, participation, and respectful behavior Providing simple, constructive feedback under staff guidance Helping maintain an inclusive, organized, and positive learning environment Qualifications Preferred /
Plus If You :
you are a Teacher, Coach various Academic subjects and/or sports activities including Taekwondo, Martial Arts, soccer, basketball, and other Sports who can, 1)Teach fundamental skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship to students. 2) Handle entire class sizes ranging from 10 to 20 with full energy and enthusiasm. 3) Willing to drive a school van to transport students to and from school. And / OR, Experienced teachers, Coaches, or individuals interested in growing within the education & Sports industry are highly preferred Previous coaching experience is a plus. Knowledge of sports curriculum and instructional strategies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with students and colleagues Flexibility to work evenings Energetic, reliable, and passionate about working with children and youth Comfortable leading activities and maintaining a positive group dynamic Preferred backgrounds include sports, education, STEM, arts, music, or martial arts — all passionate leaders are welcome! High school graduate, current college student, or recent college graduate (assistant roles available) Requirements Must be enrolled (or willing to enroll) in the Oregon Central Background Registry (required) Must have reliable transportation Must be able to relocate to Beaverton area before start date, if not already local Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 35 pounds Ability to actively move and supervise students in both indoor and outdoor settings Why Join ASA-Oregon?
