Position Description:
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a Seasonal position reporting to the Associate Executive Director. The primary responsibility of the Gym Supervisor is to supervise the activities occurring in the gym or gyms assigned, and the immediate adjacent areas of each facility. Primary duties include but are not limited to: set-up/take-down of equipment; clean-up and oversight of facilities; opening and closing of the gyms. Other responsibilities will include, but not limited to: record keeping; documenting game and/or incident reports for KS staff; documenting accidents/injuries; conflict management; enforcing the school rules and policies regarding the use of the gym as well as rules/policies set by
KIDSPORTS.
Gym Supervisors are required to provide a high level of customer service, and professionalism for spectators, players, coaches, officials and staff.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES
This position works indoors with groups of adults and children. Must be able to set-up and takedown equipment including volleyball nets, basketball hoops, bleachers, chair, desks, etc. Must be able to lift 20-50 lbs. and able to respond and react to emergencies. May work non-standard workweeks and shifts to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. •
Qualifications:
Previous experience working with recreation programs, and/or previous team-sports experience; and/or customer service experience desired but not required. Seeking OUTGOING and professional individuals who are able to greet those entering the gym, and assist or direct them in response to program or facility questions. Must be 18 years of age and have a valid Oregon driver's license or have reliable transportation to work site.
