Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and energetic Transportation Driver / Activities Assistant to join our team at Hood River Post Acute. This dual-role position is perfect for someone who enjoys working with seniors, values meaningful interactions, and thrives in a team-oriented healthcare environment. Position Overview This role is responsible for safely transporting residents to and from appointments, outings, and facility-related trips using the facility van. When transportation duties are not required, this position assists the Activities Director in planning and facilitating engaging activities for our residents.
Transportation Duties:
Safely operate the facility van to transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and other scheduled destinations Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle as needed Ensure all safety procedures are followed, including proper use of seat belts and mobility devices Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the facility vehicle Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding transportation schedules and resident needs
Activities Support Duties:
Assist the Activities Director with group and individual activities Help set up and clean up activity spaces Encourage resident participation and engagement Provide one-on-one interaction for residents as needed Support special events, holiday celebrations, and community outings Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Experience driving a larger vehicle/van preferred Compassion for working with elderly and medically complex individuals Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to assist residents with mobility needs (including wheelchair transport) Ability to pass background check and meet healthcare employment requirements Preferred Qualities Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Dependable and punctual Patient and empathetic Creative and energetic when engaging residents
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$15.00 - $21.00 per hour
