As an Activities Assistant, you will work under the direction of the Activity Director to plan, organize, and lead engaging recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic activities that enhance our residents' quality of life. Why Join Our Team? ✔ Supportive leadership and collaborative team environment ✔ Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in residents' lives ✔ Creative and engaging work environment ✔ Career growth opportunities within long-term care ✔ Flexible scheduling options ✔ Daily Pay available through Tapcheck ✔ Competitive benefits for eligible employees What You'll Do Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational and social activities for residents Lead scheduled activities according to the monthly activity calendar Encourage resident participation while promoting independence and dignity Escort residents to and from activity programs, outings, and special events as needed Assist with community outings and facility-sponsored events Help coordinate and support the facility's volunteer program Assist with Resident Council meetings and help address resident concerns Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities Assist the Activity Director with care plans, MDS documentation, and organization of the Activity Department Collaborate with nursing and other departments to provide a positive resident experience Observe residents during activities and promptly report any changes in condition to the nursing team Report accidents, incidents, unsafe conditions, or equipment concerns immediately Assist in identifying departmental supply and equipment needs Distribute resident mail, newspapers, and periodicals Maintain confidentiality of resident information and protect resident rights Participate in facility in-services and ongoing educational programs Practice safe work habits and follow all facility policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Recreation, or a related field preferred Previous experience in recreational activities, long-term care, assisted living, or healthcare preferred Valid Pennsylvania driver's license preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently while also collaborating as part of a team Compassionate, energetic, creative, and dependable Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Frequent bending, stooping, stretching, reaching, and lifting Ability to assist residents during activities and outings Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to safely transport activity supplies and equipment Benefits Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Daily Pay (Tapcheck) Paid Time Off Holiday Pay 401(k) Retirement Plan Life Insurance Short-Term Disability Schedule Options Part-Time positions available Day, Evening, Weekend, and Holiday availability as needed On-site position Apply today and become part of a team committed to creating meaningful moments, enriching lives, and making every day brighter for our residents.
