JOB SUMMARY
The Communications and Creative Services Assistant supports the Athletics Department's communications, marketing, digital media, and creative services efforts. This position assists with promoting student-athletes, coaches, teams, and departmental initiatives while helping maintain a consistent and professional athletics brand across digital, social, print, and game-day platforms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the day-to-day communications and creative services operations of the Athletics Department. Create and assist with graphics for social media, athletics websites, digital signage, game days, awards, milestones, schedules, and special events. Assist with managing and creating content for official athletics social media accounts. Develop creative content that highlights student-athletes, coaches, teams, alumni, and departmental accomplishments. Assist with photography and videography at practices, games, community events, and other athletics-related activities. Assist with writing and editing game previews, recaps, feature stories, press releases, and other athletics communications materials. Help maintain accurate information on the official athletics website, including schedules, rosters, statistics, biographies, and news. Assist with the creation of promotional materials for home contests, special events, ticket initiatives, and departmental campaigns. Help develop content calendars and creative concepts for athletics social media platforms. Assist with maintaining brand consistency across athletics graphics, publications, social media, and other promotional materials. Assist with organizing and maintaining photo, video, graphic, and digital media archives. Help track social media growth, engagement, impressions, and other digital performance metrics. Collaborate with coaches, student-athletes, athletics staff, and other campus departments to develop engaging content. Assist with special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2-3 years related experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree is required in communications or related fields.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to carry camera equipment and assist with set and breakdown of game day equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is primarily performed in a university campus environment and requires a flexible schedule including evenings, nights, holidays and weekend work.
