Job Description

VNA Alliance is a faith based, non-profit organization based in Meadville, Pennsylvania. VNA Alliance serves Crawford, Mercer, Venango, Erie, Forest, Warren, Butler, and Lawrence counties. We offer skilled nursing, palliative care, and comprehensive therapy services. The Scheduling Assistant is responsible for assisting the Managers and Supervisors in the daily operations of the agency's on-going scheduling functions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Computer skills: Microsoft Word and Excel Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to prioritize and organize daily workload High School education required
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES A.
Creates yearly model calendars for staff in the computer. B. Verifies schedules provided by clinicians with computer-generated schedules and makes changes accordingly. C. Verifies and changes recent visits to ensure staff does not overlook patient recertification. D. Ensures frequencies written by clinician's match visit patterns; contacts clinicians when corrections need to occur. E. Reassigns patients to covering clinicians during periods of vacations and other absences. F. Handles general scheduling inquiries from staff and patients, whether received by telephone, e-mail, or in person. G. Identifies problems/concerns related to scheduling with patients and staff and reports them appropriately. Communicates all changes in the daily schedule to the appropriate field staff, supervisor and/or manager Communications A. Obtains and delivers information to others by computer, phone, fax, written reports, letters and in person. B. Interacts with field staff, patients, families, physicians, other health disciplines, agencies, insurance companies, hospitals, labs, employers, government agencies and representatives as necessary. Professional Standards A. Maintains a professional standard of conduct projecting a positive image of the agency at all times. B. Complies with risk management practices. C. Maintains confidentiality of patient/staff information.
