Job Description
Messiah Lifeways is hiring a Part Time Activities Assistant (Enrichment Specialist) to their team!! This Enrichment Specialist is a unique role that will work with both our Personal Care and Skilled Nursing residents and teams. Our roots go all the way back to 1896, when the Brethren in Christ Church founded Messiah Home in Harrisburg, PA, with a mission to serve older adults with Christ-like love. ❤️ Today, that same spirit of compassion, community, and service continues to guide everything we do. In this role, you'll play an important part in supporting and caring for our residents while creating and leading activities that bring joy, connection, and purpose to our senior living community.
Schedule Details:
Part Time; 42 hours/paySchedule:
12:30-8:30pm in Personal Care- Every Other Weekend and alternating Tuesday/Thursday rotation 5:00-8:00pm in Skilled Nursing

Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to plan, coordinate and conduct meaningful enrichment programs Must have basic knowledge of computer programs, audio-visual equipment, and communication devices Must work with children due to intergenerational programming as well as older adults Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm Must demonstrate professionalism and patience while supporting residents displaying challenging behavioral expressionsEducation/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required Prior experience working directly with residents in long term care and/or residents with dementia preferred Prior caregiving experience with resident care or basic hygiene tasks preferredBenefits
