The position assists with planning, scheduling, and implementing individual and group activities designed to meet the social, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual needs of our residents. Activities can be such as events, outings, games, and exercises. He or she The Assistant oversees leads activities to ensure residents participate safely and supervises and trains any volunteers. In addition, the Activities Assistant may occasionally arrange for the outside community to visit the residents, such as scout troops, school groups, performance groups, etc. The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience in planning social and recreational programs, preferably within an assisted living or long-term care facility. Fluent English speaking and writing skills, empathy and the ability to listen, work independently, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position. Responsibilities Plans and schedules activities and ensures residents participate safely. Ensures that the required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards. Communicates with residents regarding participation in and satisfaction with programs. Maintains equipment and the activities room or area in compliance with standards. Trains and monitors volunteers. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; some post-high school education or training preferred Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills Excellent communication skills, verbal and written Neat, clean, and professional appearance Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed Company Description In 2001, the doors opened to The Grand Residence at Upper St. Clair, a senior living community offering 70 guest suites and a host of unique amenities.
