Who you are Required Programs Manager - i9 Sports Help kids succeed in life through sports i9 Sports is hiring a Programs Manager (the role our Operations Manual calls Program Director) to run the day-to-day of our local youth sports leagues. This is a hands-on operations job: you own league setup, staff and coaches, game-day quality, and the customer experience—so families get a well-run, fun, safe season every time. superior organization and communication, convenience, a safe and supportive environment, skills and sportsmanship instruction, and a focus on fun. No tryouts. No drafts. Equal playing time. Age-appropriate programming for kids 3-14 in sports such as soccer, flag football, basketball, baseball, and volleyball. About the role The Programs Manager is the franchise owner's right hand for business and league operations. You will build seasons in our systems, recruit and train coaches and on-field staff, keep programs on brand, and make sure every venue looks and feels like i9 Sports on game day. This role works best for someone who is self-disciplined, task-focused, highly detail-oriented, urgent, and process-driven. You will move fast from week to week, solve problems before they hit the field, and take ownership of results.
Typical mix:
weekday office/admin work + weekend game days at local venues. What you will do League & program operations Build and maintain seasons in "Franchise Manager" (our program software- training provided): programs, rosters, schedules, divisions, and communication plans Set and manage a 12-month program calendar (leagues, instructional programs, camps, clinics, training sessions, and after-school offerings as directed) Keep programs age-appropriate (Pee Wee / Junior / Senior) and aligned with standard formats, pricing, uniforms, awards, and sportsmanship medals Order equipment, manage inventory, and prepare coach bags Handle registrations, refunds, rainout/inclement-weather communication, scores/stats, and member account follow-up Use Listen360 and other feedback to improve the experience and respond to customer issues People & field quality Source, screen, train, and manage site managers, sport coordinators, instructors, officials, and volunteer coaches Ensure every coach, official, and staff member completes an annual background check (with ID photo verification) and required risk-management / child-safety training before they are on the field Run coach meetings and parent communication; support buddy requests and balanced teams Uphold brand standards on game day: field layout, canopy/table optics, on-time starts, 20-10-1 welcome culture, sportsmanship awards, and closing ceremonies Act as a culture leader: customer obsession, contagious enthusiasm, unflinching ownership, anticipation & simplification, and celebrating raving fans Compliance, safety & brandGrowth support (as assigned) Maintain i9 Sports operating procedures, brand optics, and "When in Doubt, Sit Them Out" concussion protocol Complete incident reports, escalate safety issues, and never allow one-on-one adult-child situations Represent the brand professionally (i9 Sports polo and khakis on program days) Promote next-season offerings at the field Assist with venue relationships and limited local marketing execution when needed Who you are: Proven ability to run multi-step operations on a deadline (youth sports, recreation, camps, education, events, or similar is a plus) Strong organizer: rosters, schedules, inventory, and communication plans do not slip Comfortable leading part-time staff, volunteers, and coaches—and resetting standards when needed Excellent parent-facing communication; calm under sideline pressure Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to work weekends and season peaks Ability to pass a criminal background check and work with children (this is non-negotiable) Computer fluency (email, spreadsheets, web systems; you will learn Franchise Manager and i9 Sports University) Preferred Youth sports coaching, officiating, or program-admin experience Experience with multi-sport or multi-venue operations Ability to influence community partners, venue contacts, and volunteer coaches Mindset we hire for Faster-than-average pace and quick, thorough learning Goal-driven and task-focused Extreme urgency plus detail Strong sense of duty—you care about getting it right for kids and families Seeks responsibility and brings solutions, not just problemsWhat success looks like Seasons open on time with complete rosters, schedules, coaches, officials, and equipment Game days start on time, look on-brand, and feel safe and fun Coaches and site staff know the plan and live the culture Families know when and where to be; issues are handled quickly Kids get equal play, skill instruction, and weekly sportsmanship recognition The owner can focus on growth because operations are tight Schedule, pay & other details Full-time Programs Manager (30+ hours/week) or part-time Associate Programs Manager Mix of weekday planning and required weekend game days during season Outdoor and indoor venues; standing, setup/breakdown, and weather-related decisions Compensation, benefits, and exact hours are set by the local franchise (each i9 Sports business makes its own hiring and pay decisions) Must complete staff confidentiality agreement, annual background check, and assigned i9 Sports University / risk-management training i9 Sports is an equal opportunity employer.
