THE POSITION
Become a Therapeutic Activities Worker with the Department of Human Services and help create uplifting experiences for the people we serve. This position focuses on planning and delivering a wide range of therapeutic, vocational, and recreational activities for individuals who live at the center. You will help create meaningful experiences that support personal development and daily engagement. As a Therapeutic Activities Worker, you will perform the following duties:Activity Planning:
Design and coordinate therapeutic, vocational, and recreational programs for individualsEvent Coordination:
Manage contracts, schedules, and logistics for center events, trips, and special functionsProgram Support:
Work with teams to develop program plans and share information that supports individual needsTeam Collaboration:
Provide support to fellow staff and offer lead worker coverage as neededResource Management:
Requisition and review supplies and equipment required for daily programmingWork Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs. One position has Friday and Saturday as days off. The other position has Sunday and Monday as days off. Overtime and travel as operationally necessaryTelework:

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Four years of experience providing therapeutic activities for individuals with physical, medical, or cognitive disabilities; or A bachelor's degree with major coursework in therapeutic recreation; physical education; vocational rehabilitation; vocational education or counseling; art, music, dance, or occupational therapies; or a related human services field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.Other Requirements:
