Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is seeking a full-time Fitness and Wellness Supervisor. This position plans, develops, and implements wellness and physical fitness programs, and provides technical and instructional assistance to fitness program participants.
To best serve the students, department, and college, this position requires a physical presence on campus, with the possibility of partial remote work depending on business needs.

Essential Functions
20%
- Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews, and evaluates the work of staff; coordinates the maintenance of the facility
15% - Plans, develops, and implements wellness programs: district, employee, student, community, and third party; evaluates program effectiveness and makes improvement recommendations
15% - Coordinates programs and schedules; maintains class and fitness program records
10% - Develops, prepares, and distributes marketing materials and related communications; identifies program opportunities involving businesses and the community
10% - Demonstrates fitness techniques and equipment usage; provides technical and instructional assistance to program participants; troubleshoots and performs minor maintenance on fitness equipment
10% - Prepares and monitors assigned budget and program expenditures; coordinates merchandise inventory and sales; evaluates equipment needs and makes recommendations for equipment acquisition or replacement
10% - Provides customer service to staff, students, faculty, the local community, Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community, and others
5% - Collaborates with the Fitness and Wellness department programs and other campus divisions/departments
5% - Performs other duties as assigned
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Supervises full-time regular and part-time staff, including conducting performance evaluations, coordinating training, and implementing hiring, discipline, and termination procedures.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Receives general supervision on routine items, which are performed according to established standards and procedures, and receives specific work instruction regarding non-routine matters and deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in exercise physiology, physical fitness, or a directly related field and two (2) years full-time equivalent of experience in the management and coordination of a fitness center, including performing fitness assessments, developing workout prescriptions, and/or circuit training.
OR
An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above, sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications
A. Experience leading the operations of a collegiate fitness center, recreation facility, or wellness program, including supervision of staff, student employees, and facility operations.
B. Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and assessing innovative wellness, fitness, or recreation programs that increase student engagement, participation, and overall well-being.
C. Experience developing innovative initiatives that integrate wellness into the broader student experience through collaborations with student affairs, academic programs, employee wellness initiatives, and campus events.
D. Experience developing partnerships with campus departments, community organizations, and local businesses to expand wellness programming, special events, and community engagement opportunities.
E. Demonstrated success with marketing, outreach, and program promotion using both traditional and digital communication strategies to increase participation and visibility.
F. Experience managing budgets, evaluating program effectiveness, and using data to inform planning, resource allocation, and continuous improvement.
G. Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and student-centered environment that supports the success and well-being of a diverse college community.
H. One year of full-time, relevant MCCCD experience within the previous two years.

All travel-related expenses to campus during the interview and selection process will be the candidate's responsibility.
May be required to travel to other MCCCD locations.
May be required to work evenings and weekends.
May require prolonged periods of sitting and viewing a computer screen.
May be required to lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
This position requires a physical presence on campus with possible partial remote work depending on business needs to best serve the students, department, and college.
Climbing stairs and/or ladders to reach assigned areas along with working at heights.
Will be required to work in an area of light to heavy noise levels daily.
