Job Description

SUMMARY The Part Time Fitness Attendant supports the Fitness Center by offering a welcoming environment and keeping the Center clean and orderly. Must have flexible availability.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains clean and organized environment at all times Greets and checks in all members and guests for classes, training sessions, and general Fitness Center use Answers phones Assists in cleaning Fitness Center and putting away equipment Reports any and all operational issues to Fitness Director for resolution Assists with the weekly inventory of all supplies Schedule personal training appointments for Fitness Director and Personal Trainers Checks kayaks in and out Maintains laundry on a timely basis Completes evening cleaning schedule so that Center is operationally ready for morning usage

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to interact positively with supervisor, managers, coworkers, members, and guests to promote a team effort and maintain a positive and professional manner. Ability to treat members, guests, and staff with respect and courtesy.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalency and interest in fitness
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to speak, read, and communicate.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic computer skills
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide may be needed in this role.
REASONING ABILITY A
Fitness Attendant has the ability to reason out problems and situations before seeking assistance from the Fitness Manager. S/he uses discretion in dissemination of information.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS CPR

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The Fitness Attendant works in a health-conscious environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Fitness Attendant must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to sit, bend, squat, and pick up and carry up to 20 lbs. S/he works in a climate-controlled environment.
