We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Grapple Truck Driver to join our tree service crew. The Grapple Truck Driver is responsible for operating a grapple truck to load, transport, and unload tree debris, logs, and other materials generated during tree removal, trimming, and storm cleanup operations. This role requires strong driving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with tree crews in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a grapple truck safely and efficiently to collect and transport tree debris. Load logs, branches, stumps, and brush from job sites using the grapple arm. Haul debris to designated dump sites, disposal facilities, or processing yards. Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance on the truck and grapple equipment. Work closely with tree crews and scheduling team to coordinate timing and site access. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized truck at all times. Comply with DOT regulations, company safety policies, and environmental guidelines. Assist with ground crew duties during downtime (if required). Document job completion, loads hauled, and maintenance performed.
Requirements:
Valid CDL Class A with a clean driving record. Minimum [1-2] years of commercial driving experience; grapple truck or heavy equipment experience preferred. Residential and/or Commercial experience
REQUIRED.
Knowledge of safe loading, driving, and unloading procedures. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Physically fit with the ability to climb, lift, and operate equipment as needed. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends and emergency storm response.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the tree care or landscaping industry. Familiarity with local disposal facilities and routes. Mechanical aptitude for minor truck and equipment repairs.
Work Environment:
This position is primarily field-based and requires frequent travel to residential, commercial, and municipal job sites. The work may involve exposure to loud noise, dust, uneven terrain, and extreme weather conditions.
