Late September 2026 Position Summary Riverland Hills Baptist Church is seeking a dependable and service-oriented Recreation Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our Recreation Ministry. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining excellent facilities and equipment, and is passionate about serving church members and guests through recreation programs. The Recreation Assistant will assist with facility and field preparation, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and general operational support for recreational activities and events. Essential Responsibilities Prepare athletic fields, gym spaces, and recreation facilities for practices, games, events, and ministry activities. Perform routine maintenance, setup, cleaning, and organization of recreation equipment. Monitor, track, and maintain inventory of recreation supplies and equipment. Assist with equipment repairs and coordinate maintenance needs as necessary. Ensure facilities and equipment are safe, clean, and ready for use. Support recreation leagues, camps, tournaments, and special events. Assist with event setup and teardown. Provide excellent customer service to church members, guests, coaches, participants, and volunteers. Follow safety procedures and ministry guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned by the Recreation Director. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, moving equipment, and working outdoors. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Ability to interact positively with children, youth, adults, and volunteers. Previous experience in recreation, facility maintenance, athletics, or related fields is preferred but not required. Must be an active member of a local church of like faith and fully support the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000. Work Schedule Flexible schedule. Primarily evening hours. Monday through Saturday availability required. Additional hours may be required for special events, leagues, tournaments, and seasonal programs. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in various weather conditions. Ability to perform tasks requiring physical exertion for extended periods.
