Job Summary:
The Fitness Desk Worker is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Fitness Center by managing member check-ins, providing excellent customer service, handling inquiries, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role involves interacting with members, assisting with their fitness-related needs, and addressing any maintenance or operational issues that arise. The Fitness Desk Worker is also responsible for light cleaning duties to ensure the fitness area is always clean and well-organized.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and check in members as they arrive at the fitness center, ensuring efficient and friendly service. Provide general information and assistance to members regarding fitness equipment, class schedules, and club amenities. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming fitness area by performing light cleaning duties, including wiping down equipment, and cleaning highly commonly used areas. Report any maintenance or equipment issues promptly to the appropriate personnel. Monitor member activity and enforce fitness center policies to ensure safety and enjoyment for all. Assist with member inquiries, providing solutions or directing them to the appropriate person if necessary. Manage the sign-in system, ensuring accurate member records. Support fitness center staff with administrative tasks, scheduling, and other duties as assigned. Foster a positive environment where all members feel valued and welcomed.
Qualifications Preferred:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous customer service experience, preferably in a fitness or hospitality setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and remain organized in a fast-paced environment. A proactive and friendly attitude with a commitment to exceptional service. Basic knowledge of fitness equipment and gym operations is a plus, but not required. Must be reliable and punctual. Must be a self-starter and manage the tasks without constant supervision. Ability to lift and move light equipment and perform cleaning tasks.
Work Environment:
Availability of working during the desk shift times listed below: Monday-Friday 8:00-11:00am and/or 4:00-7:00pm Saturday & Sunday 9:00am-2:00pm. Comfortable fitness-oriented environment within a country club setting.
Physical Requirements:
