of Greater Houston - 3.9 Houston, TX Job Details Temporary | Part-time $13 an hour 14 hours ago Benefits Employee assistance program Flexible schedule Qualifications CPR Certification Basic math First aid High school diploma or GED Working with children Full Job Description Position Summary Support a safe, engaging, and positive seasonal day camp environment for youth. This role focuses on supervising children, leading structured and unstructured activities, and promoting personal growth through age-appropriate programming and positive role modeling. Key Responsibilities Supervise and engage a group of children in daily camp activities Plan and lead activities that are age-appropriate, inclusive, and engaging Encourage participation through games, outdoor play, and educational experiences Maintain a clean, organized, and safe program environment Assist with daily setup and cleanup of activity areas and equipment Track attendance and complete basic program documentation as needed Respond to children's needs with patience, positivity, and professionalism Build respectful relationships with campers, families, and team members Follow established guidelines for safety, supervision, and program operations Stay informed on emergency procedures and respond appropriately when needed Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and special events Model positive behavior and leadership for campers Ensure proper check-in/check-out procedures and monitor access to program areas Report concerns or incidents in accordance with organizational guidelines Complete assigned tasks and administrative responsibilities on time Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or GED required Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (or willingness to obtain) Experience working with children in camps, childcare, or similar settings preferred Interest or experience in activities such as sports, outdoor recreation, arts, or group games is a plus Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities Comfortable working with children from diverse backgrounds Skills & Abilities Clear communication and basic writing skills Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team Basic math skills for everyday tasks Good judgment and problem-solving in routine situations Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and actively participate in activities for extended periods Frequent use of hands and movement (bending, reaching, lifting) Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally Comfortable assisting children physically when needed for safety Work Environment Primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions Active, fast-paced setting with moderate to high noise levels May involve exposure to typical environmental elements associated with outdoor and youth programs Equal Opportunity Statement We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees.
