Job Description
This position is responsible for the Recreation Services Division within the Community Activity Center and supports the delivery of high-quality programs, services, and customer experiences. The role provides staff leadership, operational coordination, fiscal oversight, and marketing support to ensure efficient daily operations and alignment with departmental goals.
- Supervises and develops Recreation Services Division staff, including front desk, tot drop, party host, and concession personnel, through recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, payroll oversight, and disciplinary actions as needed to maintain a positive work environment, effective operations and service excellence.
- Oversees member services functions and assigned operational areas, including admissions, passes, rentals, concessions, merchandise control, and recreation management software administration, while monitoring revenues and expenditures, reconciling financial records, assisting with annual budget preparation, developing fee recommendations, preparing reports, and supporting cost recovery and fiscal accountability.
- Leads marketing and community outreach efforts by guiding the development of print, digital, and social media content; producing the department's Adventures Guide; coordinating campaigns with the Town's Communications Department; and promoting memberships, programs, and events to facility users, program participants, and the community.
- Ensures exceptional customer service by responding to citizen inquiries and complaints, resolving issues, evaluating service requests, training staff on service standards, and maintaining a welcoming, solution-oriented environment.
- Coordinates facility scheduling, ensuring appropriate staff coverage during operating hours and rental activities.
- Monitors and manages bi-weekly employee payroll for all recreation services employees.
- Monitors gymnasium and fitness equipment maintenance.
- Prepares and submits various weekly, monthly, and annual reports as assigned.
- Serves as Manager on Duty on a rotating basis, including nights and weekends. Supports the Community Activity Center and Parks and Recreation Department by assisting with special events, recreational programs, facility rentals, and facility coverage in the absence of staff.
- Performs additional administrative and operational duties as assigned to support the overall success of the Community Activity Center and Parks and Recreation Department and the Town of Flower Mound.
- Adheres to the personnel, safety, and department policies and procedures.
- Assists other coworkers as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- A bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation, Physical Education, Hospitality Management, or related field is required.
- Must have two years of supervisory experience in parks and recreation or related field.
- Must be certified in American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer; or must obtain within 120 days of hire date.
- Must have a valid state-issued driver's license and driving record must be in compliance with Town policy.
- Texas Food Manager certification required; or must obtain within 120 days of hire date. Physical Abilities The physical abilities described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Must be able to talk, see, hear, and read Must be able to work in adverse environmental conditions. Must be able to perform strenuous physical activities to include kneeling, bending, twisting, dragging, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. of sport and various equipment.

- Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP)
- Prior experience with the Active Net registration software is preferred.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications is preferred. Knowledge/ Skills / Abilities

- Must be able to work various hours, including evenings, weekends and Town holidays as required.
