Job Description:
Texas State University is seeking applications for the position of Coordinator of Player Personnel & Strategy for our Men's Basketball Program. This is a full-time benefits eligible position and reports to the Head Coach for
Men's Basketball Job Duties:
Under the direction of the Head Coach, this position serves as a strategic advisor and operational leader responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of initiatives related to roster construction, player personnel management, recruiting operations, and overall program development. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Managing player-focused programs that support student‑athlete welfare, leadership development, and engagement with the Bobcat basketball program. Assisting in the coordination of contract negotiations, including NIL arrangements and other player‑related contractual matters, in alignment with university guidelines, NCAA rules, and applicable state and federal regulations. Coordinate and maintain collaborative relationships with key Athletics units and campus partners, including NCAA Compliance, Athletics Operations, Academic Services, Sports Medicine, Strength and Conditioning, and Residential Life, to support player needs. Supports recruiting, NIL initiatives, player brand development, and strategic relationships that strengthen the Bobcat basketball program and enhance the student‑athlete experience. Providing support to the coaching staff and student‑athletes in preparation for practices, competitions, meetings, film review, and other basketball‑related activities, with an emphasis on player readiness and retention. Collaborating with the Athletics Compliance Office to ensure adherence to NCAA, conference, University, and Athletics policies and procedures in all player personnel, recruiting, and NIL activities. Assisting with player evaluation, roster management, transfer portal strategy, and succession planning for future recruiting classes. Serves as a liaison for student‑athletes on day‑to‑day personal and academic matters, helping them access campus resources and maintain progress toward degree completion.
